स्नेहास्पद विजय,
तुम्हारे दो पत्र मुझे मिले। विजया दशमी और दीवाली पर हमारी शुभकामनायें तुम सबको इस पत्र से पहुँचती है।
तुमने तो 'विवेकानन्द ज्ञान मंदिर ' के बारे में विस्तार से और बहुत सुन्दर इतिहास ही लिख दिया। 'विवेकानन्द ज्ञान मंदिर' को महामण्डल की इकाई मानकर " झुमरी तिलैया विवेकानन्द युवा महामण्डल " नाम से कार्य चलाने की अनुमति देने का सिद्धान्त हमने ले लिया। इस विषय में formal letter भेज रहा हूँ। अब तुम नयी Sign Board लगा सकते हो।
Letter pad और Receipt महामण्डल के नाम से छपा सकते हो। पर अभी उसमें monogram लगाने की जरूरत नहीं है। Affiliation मिलने के बाद किया जायेगा। आशा करता हूँ कि जिस सभा में यह नाम बदलने का प्रस्ताव पास किया गया होगा, उसका ठीक ठीक विवरण सदस्यों के हस्ताक्षर के साथ रख लिया होगा।
Annual Camp में भाग लेना सभी सदस्यों के लिए बहुत ही आवश्यक है। नये युवाओं को लाने से भी उन्हें और संस्था को , दोनों के लिए अच्छा होगा। परन्तु जो जो सदस्य संस्था को आरम्भ करने के समय से इसको चलाने में मदत दिए हैं, उनका शिविर में भाग लेना सबसे अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है।
मेरा नाम लेकर उनसे कहना कि देश की सच्ची सेवा के लिए इस शिक्षण शिविर में आने के लिए मेरा हार्दिक और विनीत आह्वान है। क्योंकि इस शिविर में वैसा शिक्षण और विद्या पर चर्चा होती है जिससे देश का सर्वाधिक भला हो सकता है। व्यक्तिगत नाम-यश, प्रतिष्ठा-मान्यता, वाह -वाह आदि इसकी तुलना में बहुत ही छोटी चीजें हैं।
तुम्हारे जो मित्र लोग अब दूर चले गए हैं, उनको भी यह कहना और थोड़ा विचार करके देखने के लिये कहना। Jci (club) के साथ साथ 'हिन्दू मिलन मंदिर' कैसे जोड़ा जा सकता है, ये बात मुझे नहीं मालूम। जो लोग हिन्दुओं का भला करना चाहते हैं, उनके लिए पहले अपने चरित्र जो बनाना जरुरी है- धर्म क्या है ? यह भी समझने की जरूरत है। महामण्डल शिविर में आने से इन दोनों बातों को यथार्थ रूप में समझ सकेंगे।
मेरी हिन्दी पढ़कर शायद तुम हँसोगे, लेकिन मेरे भाव को इसमें से जरूर पकड़ सकोगे, ऐसी मेरी आशा है। वहाँ के कैम्प में मेरे द्वारा दिए व्याख्यान को सुनकर तुमलोग शायद हँसते होंगे? जैसा भी हो, तुम सबके ऐक्य और सम्मिलित कर्म-उद्योग लेने से ही स्वामी जी ने जैसा चाहा वैसा काम हो, यही मेरा एकान्तिक प्रार्थना उनके चरणों में करते हुए -

My dear Bijoy,
Glad to receive your letter and to note that you are earnestly striving for self-development and encouraging young men to do the same.
It is good that from your notes from the camp you are drawing ideas to coach the boys. General ideas of the Mahamandal should be repeated again and again. I mean :~ 'The purpose of human life', 'the necessity of striving for life building', the need to build character while young, etc .
When young if not understand that they will miss the meaning of life if they do not form character in early age, they will not have the urge to work hard for character -formation .Then : What is character, how it can be formed, Regular practices should be insisted and self-analysis and monitoring of progress in individual cases should be undertaken .
I shall talk in detail at the OTC. You may bring only such person who understand the Mahamandal. Fresh boys need not come to OTC. Only one or two from those who run the PC or ready to do so may come.
'Japa' is not essential for practice of Mental Concentration . Young boys need not be initiated for character building. Initiation may be taken by persons who themselves feel the need.
If you insist on this the whole work will get slowed down. We have to be very cautious. Methods of the Mahamandal have developed through much careful consideration .Initiation cannot be universal , but everyone has to become good individual, a man worth the name.
